As we find ourselves in the middle of the Christmas season of giving…. We remind everyone that our local organization supports the Rainbow Room in Longview, Gregg County.  This benefits children that have been removed from homes through CPS and works with CASA volunteers to help those children and the foster parents have items they might need for a child being placed in their care and custody.

This year the Rainbow room is in need of diapers, wipes, baby items in general, underwear (boys & girls - all sizes), COATS (again boy or girl & all sizes), SHOES (again boy or girl & all sizes) & hygiene products (shampoo, conditions, toothbrushes, toothpaste).  They reminded us that babies and toddlers are not the only age that are removed from homes, so they have a need for older children's items as well.

They are also in need of large ticket items (Car Seats, Booster Seats, Pack-N-Plays) - these have to be new in boxes. - NTAP PLANS TO PURCHASE SEVERAL CAR SEATS & PACK-N-PLAYS & various other items on the list with the donations we have collected this year.

At the November meeting we passed around a bucket for people to draw from for various items so that we were able to maybe meet a larger scale of donations in various sizes.   We originally had 32 draw tickets in the bucket….. Several people have asked what the remaining tags were in the bucket - they are listed as follows:

Toddler Jacket or Coat - Boy or Girl or Both - size 2T

Toddler Jacket or Coat - Boy or Girl or Both - size 5T

Youth size shoes - Boy or Girl or Both - size 2

Toddler shoes - Boy or Girl or Both - size 3T

Toddler shoes - Boy or Girl or Both - size 8T

Infant Jacket or Coat - Boy or Girl or Both - size 12 month

Youth size shoes - Boy or Girl or Both - size 5

            Box of Baby Wipes

Box of Diapers - any size

If you are able to help with any of these items, your contributions are greatly welcomed.  If you need me to meet you and pick the items you drew at the last meeting, please give me a call (903-746-7814 or at work 903-758-0561), I will be happy to come to various offices and pick up items.

I also had a request for Paypal & Venmo options… if you or even your attorney would like to send a monetary donation - you can send money to me through my paypal account - my e-mail for paypal is   or you can send money thru Venmo - Shannon Happney - just please mark it for Rainbow Room & send me a text at 903-746-7814 so I confirm receipt of payment to you.  Javan & I plan to go shopping first of next week.

Our Christmas Lunch meeting will be on Wednesday, December 18, 2019 at Barron's.  We will gather up all remaining donations at that time and then Javan and I will deliver all of the items collected to the Rainbow Room.  Thank you for your support and generosity.

If you have any questions concerning these activities, or want to know how to become more involved, please contact the lovely Javan Johnson at  Click here for more information on the Rainbow Room.
